Your first date will be much more relaxed if you crack a few jokes…

Making your first date more comfortable and humorous can be as simple as telling a goofy joke. Not only do first date jokes break the ice, but they also can show that special someone what a great sense of humor you have and can keep the conversation flowing.

I normally am prepared for situations like these, but I left my ice pick in the car.

Telling any joke on the first date – not necessarily a joke about the date itself – is a great way to break the ice. If you know that your joke is a cheesy one, warn your date beforehand how cheesy it is. Some of the worst jokes can send your date into fits of laughter just because of how un-funny they are. The goal is not to tell the greatest joke ever told, but is instead to make your date feel more relaxed. Breaking the ice with a joke will show her that you have a sense of humor, thus making the date more comfortable and far less intense.

On my last date, I went horseback riding. It was fun and everything – at least, until we ran out of quarters.

A joke like this is perfect for a first date and can send that special guy or girl into fits of uncontrollable laughter. Not only does it break the ice, but it can be a great conversation starter as well.

A sense of humor is one of the qualities that people look for in others, and by cracking a few jokes on the first date, you can show them that you are a funny person. If you can make that special guy or girl laugh, it is almost guaranteed that they will want to be around you on a regular basis. Use your humorous side to your full advantage; go ahead and tell those first date jokes.
